Product description – Dewars White Label Whiskey Unboxing & Review

A luxury blended whisky created by Master Blender Colin Scott. Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky has a mellow smooth style that appeals to many whisky drinkers looking for a dram that while not as demanding as a single malt in terms of flavour has the balance and luxurious taste of a well aged Scotch whisky. A swirl of honey with a sprig of Scottish heather. Rich, golden and warm. Clean, fresh vanilla with a slice of pear. Soft, fruity and well-rounded. A subtle sweetness with a curl of smoke. Full, balanced and satisfying.

Honest Review:

I am a regular drinker of Scots malt whisky. Laphroaig for example, as I am to the sweeter speyside malts such as Aberlour and Glenfarclas. I also enjoy good blended whiskies such as Chivas, or Black Label. I intensely dislike Grouse, Bells, Teachers, and most other blends. Not all. J&B is also very good.

Nosing the glass for a taste, I’m trying this Dewars White Label whisky for the first time. Notes are those of the heads and tails from the distillation tank, frankly repulsive. This does not bode well. A taste reveals pleasant barley malt sweetness surmounted by overpowering overtones of what can best be described as cheap vodka. The finish is equally disgusting. 2 stars because if you were to neck it, which I am not in the least tempted to do, then you can easily down it with little burn to the throat or stomach. This, then, is a cheap and to my taste nasty alcohol designed for those who care little for taste but seek an inexpensive alcohol to down in quantity, or as a dilute with coke, ginger ale, soda, ginger wine etc.

There is an alternative to buying this kind of alcohol and that is to get a life worth living.
